Harbin temperature average temperature in summer is 21.2 degrees Celsius, -16.8 degrees Celsius in winter.It can be as cold as -38.1 degrees Celsius in winter. This festival officially starts on January 5th every year. In this festival ice is used to make a sculpture which is taken from the surface of songhua river. Chisel, ice saws and some others great tools that are used to make these large ice sculptures. This work is done by sculptors who came from the world. Before festival the work is done all day and night to make this festival memorable. Multicolored light are used to make these ice sculptors especially.
